At 11:24 PM,
LOL @ Rdi.
Pdi - I love this time of the year. I love the early signs of Christmas. It tells me the holidays are near. It serves as a reminder to get that shopping list taken care of. It lines up your activities to list out people, shop malls, look at wishlists. I always look forward to the Starbucks red cups during Christmas, and the Gingerbread lattes, pumpkin spice lattes, etc. It just creates such a warm Christmas feeling. I love that. It's simply the best feeling ever.

At 2:53 AM,
Oye, I am not being cynical at all! Just saying that the holdiays have become soooo commercialised. I love Xmas time. Starting from October onwards, I love this time year. Halloween, then Thanksgiving (btw, Anniversary falls around Thanksgiving too), XMAS, and then New Years. Its all good.
All I am saying is that businesses are using the holidays as ways to make more money. Which is their job, me just complaining, thats all. Get it? ;)
Well that just sucks! Why would they do that? But that's not the question anymore now, is it?
The thing now is if he is good at what he was hired to do, which is your job. Does he do your job as good as you did. Even so, you'll haev to play this one out very politically and diplomatically. You'll have to put up this front that you are there to help him and assist him whenever he has any questions, and then make him feel like you are REALLY there to help him, but basically take it away from him bit by bit. Example: Ppl come to him asking questions, you intervene and show him how to do things faster and how you used to do it making him think you are helping him...you have to become his fallback and then one by one, have those ppl who go to him to ask questions, to come ask you...you could say things to him like "oh don't worry about it, I can take some load off your plate and I'll help you..and basically you finish the said task and notify the person who needs to know, that YOU have completed it.
If this builds up slowly and steadily, you basically get most of his work (originally yours) back again....and then your boss is going to feel like hiring him hasn't helped any coz you are still doing all the work. Gives your boss the impression that "Maybe he can't do it as well as Priti does"...
But you'll have to do something like that. You can't of course, bring up directly to anyone that you don't like him taking your work away, since that displays a negative energy and I don't have to tell you how ppl at work, especially superiors feel about that.
That's my suggestion.
Also, are you going to be given another task or project that will be your baby....do they have something better lined up for you? And if so, maybe that's why they hired him to take over your work. Possible?
Ok, I should have clarified this too ;)
He hasn't taken over my work or anything. He has just positioned himself into this spot of 'Mr-Know-it-all'. What I taught him, he is now teaching others, very nicely forgetting that it is still my area of expertise!!!
And it just aggravates me.
I have to learn to let go. Screw it!
At 11:56 PM,

Hmm...maybe have a sign with a deal on it.
Such as:
'Friend for Sale - Join Now and get 6 weekends dinner out.'
'Special Friend deal - Apply now and cry your heart out on my shoulders for 2 weeks'
'Need a friend? No one's available? talk to me - I am listening'
Or a simple
'Will be friend for coupons'
Those might work :)
